It’s common for these two to stay near one another at all times, so naturally a photobomb was bound to happen. Two precious kids getting ready for bedtime!

Cozy Dog Bed
We got this dog bed for Cali because it has the covered top. It looked like she would love it. So far the dogs have all checked it out by spending time in it. Cali’s not so convinced just yet.
Everybody Likes to Sleep In
This morning when I asked “ready to go outside?”, this was Polly’s response. She turned around, nudged her head under the covers and sat partial snuggled into the bedding like this. Clearly she was not in the mood to go outside but she didn’t have a choice. It started raining 15 minutes after we got back inside.
Pillow Pup
Fletch has never met a pillow he didn’t like! Every night I am usually the last one to make it to bed which means he is on or near my pillow. Sometimes the negotiation to get him to move leads to him singing at the top of his lungs in protest. Not exactly sleep inducing behavior. We let him sing until he feels like he’s said his peace then he moves along and lets me sleep.
Miss Polly Watching the Roofers
Polly was nervous and barking when the roofers came to replace our roof yesterday. I carried her around a bit to distract her then I needed to set her down and get some work done. I pulled out the dining room chair and set her there since she is never allowed to sit there. She sat quietly and contently while I worked. To my surprise, she was still there when my work was done. Today the roofers finished and she is back to being calm.
Catching Some Sun
A happy kitty gets in some warm sun time every day!
Can Mom See Me?
I called Bates, Polly, and Fletch to go upstairs with me so I could lock them in the bedroom for the day. Bates ran to the dog bed and plopped down next to Cali as if to say he’ll be right here hanging out. I think he was hoping I would miss him and let him spend the day hanging out with the kitty.
The Fawn is Back…With a Friend
It is an honor that the fawn has adopted our house as her own, and now she’s brought a friend to do the same. We will gladly give them their space for as long as they want to live here. On this morning I stepped out to get the trash can to the street and spotted them grazing. They stayed 30 minutes after they noticed I was on the deck. I’ll take that as a sign that they know they are safe here.
Freckles and His Unicorn
This is the toy that Bates is most drawn to. Maybe it is because it has the ring he can sink his teeth into during tug of war. Maybe it’s because he’s just as unique as a unicorn.
Cali Enjoys the Dog Beds Too
And their toys, many of which are cat toys anyway. Does this make anyone else think of the 80’s movie E.T.?
