Boss Lady

PollyTopofPyramid

The saying about tiny dogs is true.  This 7.9 pound little lady is certainly the boss around here, despite being the tiniest kid in the house.  She’s the tiniest kid we’ve ever adopted.  She’s small but not fearful or skittish at all.  On more than one occasion I have been impressed with the things she tries and accomplishes whether it is wrestling or playing with the other dogs, jumping on furniture or other obstacles, or running and playing.  You can tell that she believes she can do anything.  She is usually correct.

Baby Fawn

BABY FAWN

This little visitor showed up 3 weeks ago and is still sticking around. We’ve seen her twice since this was taken.  You’ve read about the various wildlife we have here and she was just too cute not to share.  We were working in the backyard and got within 12 feet of her before seeing her near where we throw scrap wood and branches.  We googled what to do to make sure she was not abandoned.  Apparently if the fawn does not move when you see them it means they are 5 days old or younger.  At 7 days old they are able to follow the Mother.

The Kids Have Company

DASH

This is their cousin Dash.  He actually has a real job.  He is a bed bug dog. This means that he travels to hotels and other businesses to sniff for the presence of bed bugs.  If he indicates bed bugs are present, the space must be treated to eliminate the bugs.  He may very well be the world’s most spoiled bed bug dog.  He fits right in rolling around in the yard and he really, really loves the toys here.  He will bite and shake each one at least a second or two every time he is here.

Bates

Our little buddy has claimed his own chair to hang out in.  He’s very smart because right here he’s where anyone getting up can easily reach out and pet him as they come or go in the room.

Sharing A Meal

CaliBatesBreakfast

This is Cali taking the opportunity to sample Bates’ breakfast.  She shares with him so often that the look on his face says he knows he can’t turn her away.  He let her nibble for a while then when he started eating she just sat there and kept him company.   She gets dry food in the daytime and her can of food at night when the dogs are not able to get to it.  It doesn’t stop her from wanting to eat with her siblings too.
